Winter can be a difficult time for many people. With the clocks going back on 31st October, the nights are getting longer and the famous Greater Manchester weather is well and truly back. Stockport Council is working with health partners in a joint campaign to highlight a range of important information to help the people of Stockport stay safe and well this winter.
It’s national ‘Ask Your Pharmacist Week’ between Monday, 1 November and Sunday 7 November which highlights the sorts of health problems community pharmacies can help us with – and it may be more than most people think.
In conjunction with Stockport’s ongoing offer to vaccinate 12-15 year old pupils in school, parents in Greater Manchester are now able to book COVID-19 vaccinations online for their 12–15-year-old children at www.nhs.uk/book-a-coronavirus-vaccination.
Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership has confirmed Sir Richard Leese as chair of its new Integrated Care Board ahead of NHS legislation which takes effect from the beginning of April (2022).

Stockport residents do not need to call their GP about the flu or COVID-19 booster vaccine. Reducing the number of phone calls they receive helps GP practice staff to respond more quickly to those who need medical help.
