We know it can be confusing when looking for advice on health and social care.

To help you with your search we have created a Stockport Health & Care Finder App and there are other great online health websites and apps to assist you.

Stockport Health & Care Finder App

We want you to get ‘appy’ and look after your health by using your smartphones and tablets.

This is why we created a Stockport Health & Care Finder app, to give you a chance to take more control of your own health.

The app gives you quick and easy access to up-to-date local health and social care information, including contact details and opening times of pharmacies, GPs, hospitals, clinics, care homes and other services.

In the self-care section there are links to videos to show you how to prevent ill health and take care of yourself when you are ill.

If you have a compatible Android or Apple device you can download the app by going to your app store and searching for it by name or by scanning the QR code here.

Patient Online

Did you know that all Stockport GP practices now offer access to their services online at a click of a button?

The patient online website allows you to access to GP services to:

  • Make and cancel GP appointments online
  • Order repeat prescriptions online
  • View a summary of your medical records online
  • Be more involved in your care and the way you are cared for

For example, you can book and cancel appointments at any time of the day and order your repeat prescriptions from home, work or on the move (if you have a smart phone or tablet).  This will all save you a phone call or a trip to your GP practice.

Online services do not replace traditional ways of contacting your GP practice, over the phone or in person.  They simply offer additional ways to interact, making it easier and more convenient.

To find out more and to register visit www.nhs.uk/patientonline or your own practice website.  To register for the first time you may need to visit your own practice.

Friends and Family Test

Have you had a good or bad experience of using NHS services?  Why not feedback your experience, using the friends and family test?

You can say what you think about NHS services; including hospitals, mental health and community services; NHS dental practices; ambulance services; patient transport services and even your GP practice.

It can be helpful to know what other people think of services in your area as it can help you decide which GP practice to register with or which hospital to choose for treatment.  Not only that, it helps the service themselves to know what they need to improve on.

To find out more about the friends and family test and view other people’s feedback visit:
