NWAS Patient Transport in Greater Manchester

Patients may be eligible for the Patient Transport Service (PTS) if they have a medical or clinical condition which could stop them getting to their appointment by any other means.

Patients will be asked some simple questions to check if they are eligible. In Greater Manchester patients will be asked some additional questions to help provide the most appropriate transport to meet their needs.

First appointment: To book transport the patient needs to contact their local transport booking centre as below.

When you telephone the patient will need: their NHS number, information about their mobility, whether or not they need accompanying and any other requirements.

Follow up appointments: If patients require subsequent bookings it is normally the clinic that arranges this
