GP Extended Hours

If you need a weekend or evening appointment just call your own GP Practice who will be able to book it for you.

The GP Extended Hours service is designed to provide patients with appointments outside normal general practice hours for routine care and is available:

  • Monday to Friday: 6.30pm-8pm (Kingsgate Hub, Wellington Road, Stockport SK4 1LW)
  • Saturdays & Sundays: 8am-12pm or 9am-1pm (Practice Hub, alternating weekends ) and 9am-4.30pm (Kingsgate Hub)
  • Bank Holidays: 8am-12pm or 9am-1pm (except 25 Dec, 26 Dec or 1 Jan)

Urgent week day appointments can also be made by contacting your own GP Practice and are available at the Mastercall Hub:

  • Monday to Friday: Morning and Afternoon appointments (Mastercall, Pepper Rd, Hazel Grove SK7 5BW)

You can make an appointment for a:

  • GP
  • Practice Nurse
  • Healthcare Assistant (HCA)
  • Physiotherapy assessment – (8:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday)

Patients registered with a GP practice in Stockport can access appointments at five locations in Stockport.

Patients will be given an appointment at the most convenient location for them. Extended Hours appointments can be booked up to four weeks in advance. Please note this is not a drop-in service and appointment times and availability may vary.

HCA (Phlebotomy) Phlebotomy and bloods, vital signs and blood pressure checks.

Service is designed for patients that have routine (common) blood tests requested such as:

  • Urea & electrolytes test (U+E) measures kidney function
  • Full Blood Count (FBC)
  • Liver Function Test (LFT)
  • Thyroid Function Test (TFT)
  • International Normalised Ratio (INR) – for monitoring the dose of anticoagulants such as warfarin and check that dose is correct.
  • Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) – often used to help diagnose conditions associated with inflammation or infection
