NHS Stockport CCG Local Choice of Maternity Services

NHS Stockport CCG is committed to ensuring that women are informed about their ‘local choice offers’ for using maternity services.

This choice can depend on what services the CCG commissions, as well as on clinical judgement about what is best for women and their baby/babies.

However, for the majority of women, the choice of where to go for their maternity care is personal to them and Stockport CCG recognises that it is essential that women have the information they need to make this choice.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) produce the NICE Quality Standards, which are pathways and clinical guidelines for recommended antenatal and postnatal care

The maternity pathway is split into three stages:

  • antenatal
  • delivery
  • postnatal care

Women may choose their lead provider for each stage of the pathway however; the provider must be within the local choice the CCG recognises.

Details of these providers have been identified below:

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust

Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Trust

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

East Cheshire NHS Trust
