The vaccination is a simple, safe, and effective way of protecting you against COVID-19 before you come into actual contact with the virus. It uses your natural defences to build resistance to COVID-19 and makes your immune system stronger by creating antibodies.
It is important you have the vaccine, even if you have had COVID-19 or think you have had the virus, because it will make your immune system stronger and reduce the risk of spreading the virus or having COVID-19 symptoms again.
To ease pressure on the NHS at this busy time, and to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible, please do not call your GP practice. Rest assured you will be contacted directly by letter, phone or text when it is your turn to come for the vaccine. In the meantime it is important to continue to abide by the hands, face, space guidance, which will still save lives.
