Current situation
Should you need help or advice from your GP Practice during this time, every effort is being made to provide you with support without having to visit the practice.
You can make contact with your GP surgery through their website, via the NHS App and by phone. Do not visit your GP practice unless you are specifically told to do so.
Your GP or other healthcare professional may also be able to offer you an appointment over the phone, or by video call using your smartphone, tablet or computer. This is to help reduce the risk of infection and support current advice and social distancing. This approach will ensure anyone who needs to see a GP can, while prioritising patients with the greatest need.
If you need a face-to-face appointment, you may be asked to go your practice or one of the GP Community Hubs, as practices are working together to meet the needs of their patients. When you come to the practice, please wear a face covering.
You may be greeted by someone wearing protective clothing. They may want to talk to you about symptoms and take your temperature before you enter the building – it’s for everyone’s safety.
Over ordering of repeat medication is not needed and GP surgeries will not be changing the usual length of medicine supplies to patients. This will ensure there are always stocks available.
Overview
There are 37 GP practices that cover the Stockport area. Some practices may have branch surgeries – please ask for details.
