Stockport Vaccination Offer Extended to Include 5-11 Year Olds

All children aged 5 to 11 are now eligible to get a first Covid-19 vaccination. You can protect your little ones by getting them vaccinated this Easter holiday at the One Stockport Hub, (in the former Argos store) in Merseyway, Stockport town centre, SK1 1RA.

It’s open Wednesday to Saturday, throughout April, with a dedicated area for children with trained staff on hand to offer support. The opening hours for children’s vaccinations are 9.30am to 5pm on Wednesdays, 11am to 5pm on Thursdays, 9.30am to 5pm on Fridays, and 9.30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays.

This is a dedicated timetable specifically for 5-11-year-olds with no underlying health conditions, but please note the One Stockport Hub is open for first, second, booster, and Spring booster vaccinations for everyone else 12+. The clinic will be open four days per week, from 9.30am to 5pm, Wednesday to Friday, and 9.30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays. Please note that it will be closed on Good Friday.

No appointment is needed, just walk-in. Please note the One Stockport Hub will be closed on Good Friday.

All children aged 5-11 with no underlying health conditions are being are being offered two smaller doses of the vaccine, with at least 12 weeks required between doses. This follows the latest advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

Those 5 to 11-year-olds who are more at risk from the virus can already get two small doses, eight weeks apart, and that should be arranged with their GP or hospital specialist.

If a child has had Covid-19 they will still get extra protection from the vaccine, but they will need to wait 12 weeks from the date of a positive test before getting vaccinated.

The vaccination clinic at Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Bramhall, SK3 8TP, is another local vaccination option. It can vaccinate anyone 12+ who needs a first, second, or booster vaccine, those 75+ for a Spring booster, and anyone 12+ with a weakened immune system for their Spring booster. It’s open Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 9am–6pm.
