Information Governance  –  Who does what

One of the issues which materialised during the recent  IG Toolkit Compliance Spot Check  was that not all staff members knew who the  Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO) and Caldicott Guardian (CG) were for Stockport CCG.

Please note as below:-

Andrea Green – Accountable Officer -overall accountability and responsibility for governance within the organisation.

They must be provided with assurance that all risks to the organisation, including those relating to information, are effectively managed and mitigated.

Mark Chidgey, Chief Finance Officer – Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO) – The SIRO is responsible for overseeing the management of IG incidents and ensuring that all Information Assets are included in the CCG’s Information Asset Register with regular risk assessments.

Anita Rolfe, Executive Nurse – Caldicott Guardian (CG) – responsibility for patient confidentiality and information sharing. Co-chairing the Information Governance Group with the SIRO, the Caldicott Guardian will ensure compliance with the principles contained within the NHS Code of Practice and that staff are made aware of individual responsibilities through policy, procedure and training.

Diane Jones – Information Governance Lead (IGL) – operational responsibility for Information Governance within the organisation, advising colleagues on Information Governance legislation and the national agenda, the IG lead will coordinate work across the organisation including the annual IG Toolkit submission.

Laura Hosey-Davies – Information Security Lead (ISL) – The CCG’s Associate Director of IM&T will take responsibility for ensuring that IT systems are in place to safeguard data.

Her role will include managing the IT service bought in by the CCG and coordinating regular systems tests and audits.
