Visit the Stockport town centre pop up Covid-19 vaccination clinic, organised by NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), this Thursday, 15 July, and Friday, 16 July, from 10am to 4pm. Come along to Mersey Square, Stockport Town Centre, SK1 1SP. No appointment is required.
The mobile vaccination unit will be located outside Superdrug in Mersey Square offering first and second AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccinations to anyone 18 years of age and over, subject to eligibility and assessment.
It is the second dose of the vaccine which offers maximum protection. The CCG therefore invites anyone who had their first vaccination eight weeks ago or more, to now come forward for their second vaccination. This is in line with current NHS and Government guidance.
Stockport also has a number of community pharmacies offering walk in and bookable appointments. To view the full range of vaccination options in Stockport, and how to book, visit www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/news/covid-19-vaccination-options/.
Dr Cath Briggs, Chair of Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “We are urging anyone aged 18 or over to have their COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible. The pop up clinics make it easy for people, you don’t need an appointment, just turn up.”
Councillor Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health at Stockport Council, added: “I’m delighted that the pop up vaccination clinics in Stockport are continuing and I encourage any adult who hasn’t been vaccinated to go along and get theirs. Getting vaccinated will ensure people get the maximum protection against the virus, and then we will be able to get back to a more normal life.”
