Stockport’s Stars set to shine

The Stockport Star awards will be shining brightly for the first time early in the New Year.
The new award system, launched by Stockport Together, aims to acclaim the best staff and leaders working in the local care home and home care sectors.
Day in day out hundreds of dedicated staff work in this sector making a huge difference to the lives of the people they care for but it often goes unnoticed.
So these awards are a small way of giving back to this army of loyal and committed workers.
For the past two months, care workers, patients and their relatives have been busy putting forward their nominations in ten different categories.
The awards will recognise the:
- Best Care Home
- Best Domiciliary Care Agency
- Best Domiciliary care Worker
- Best Care Home Assistant
- Best Care Home Nurse
- Best Care Team
- The Patients Choice
- Most Inspirational Leader
- Most Innovative Practice
Overall Stockport StarNow the shortlists for each category are being drawn up with judges having to make some really tough decisions.The winners will be announced at an evening event on 2nd February at Stockport County’s Conference Centre.
Stockport Together is a partnership between all of the borough’s health and social care organisations which aims to transform services for local people.
