Getting the most out of and understanding your GP practice is the subject of a new series of videos, produced by NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group. The campaign takes local residents behind the scenes of general practice with Stockport GP, Dr Siobhan Brennan from Marple Medical Practice.
Each video, filmed inside Dr Brennan’s surgery, focusses on a different topic including what to do if you are worried about something, how your information is stored, and the different types of medical professionals who work in general practice.
You can view all of the videos now.
How does my GP practice decide who I should see?
What can I do to keep healthy?
Is my health information kept safe and secure?
I’ve got something is worrying me

Phil Winrow, Vice Chair of NHS Stockport CCG, said: “General practice remained open throughout the pandemic and had to react quickly to new ways of working. This means that some things might be different when you do contact your GP. These changes have been made to help keep people safe and to help them get the appropriate care at the right time.
“Don’t hesitate to call your GP if you are worried about something. There are other options too including NHS 111 online, and your local pharmacy. There are also helpful hints and tips on minor ailments and pains on the CCG’s Staying Well page on the CCG website at www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/your-health/staying-well/.”
