Sanctuary for you

Christmas can be a challenging time for our stress levels and it’s even harder for people facing mental health issues.

Feeling like there is no-one to turn to is a real danger to someone in the midst of an emotional crisis. If suicidal thoughts ever cross your mind, or anyone else you know, there is someone to talk to.

The Sanctuary provides 24-hour support to residents across Stockport (aged 18+) who are experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts or are in crisis.

The service offers a telephone crisis line during the day, from 6am – 8pm, alongside a night time service, from 8pm – 6am, where you can also attend in person.

It provides a place of support, in a non-clinical environment, where you can speak to trained staff who have experience of living with a mental health difficulty.

The service is commissioned by NHS Stockport CCG and is here for you every day of the year, including Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Don’t struggle alone. To access The Sanctuary, call 0300 003 7029.

If you are in crisis, supporting someone else in crisis or are bereaved by suicide go to Stockport Suicide Prevention via www.stockportsuicideprevention.org.uk to connect you to the help and support you need.

The web resource provides one port of call for up-to-date local and national information, support and resources.
