Advice is only a phone call away if you need medical help on Monday, 3 May, Bank Holiday.

GP practices in Stockport will be closed, so if you have a medical need call NHS 111 First and you will be directed to the most appropriate service to use. It’s free to call and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The NHS Health A-Z guide may also provide the answers you are looking for https://www.nhs.uk/.

If your condition is serious or a life-threatening emergency, call 999 immediately or go to your nearest emergency department.

Dr Cath Briggs, Chair of Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Calling NHS 111 First is the quickest way to get medical advice over the holiday period. The advisors will offer you advice and direct you to the best place to get the help you need, which might include directing you to a pharmacy or self-help information.

“Save 111 under contacts in your phone, so you can get to it quickly whenever you need it. If you have an elderly relative or neighbour, write the number where they can see it. Remember if you need medical help, ring 111 First.”
