A GP practice in Heavily has been rated as the best surgery in Stockport, according to patients.
Bracondale Medical Centre took top billing for the borough in the annual GP Patient Survey run by Ipsos MORI on behalf of the NHS.
NHS England published the results this week with the ratings based on the opinions of nearly one million patients across England.
In the survey, patients are asked questions on everything from trust in their doctor to the attitude of reception staff and how easy it is to get an appointment.
Bracondale Medical Centre scored well on all questions but got close to a perfect 100% in four separate areas – overall experience, whether the patients would recommend the practice to others, whether the patient was given enough time with their GP and whether the GP really listened to them.
Dr Cath Briggs, a GP partner at the practice, said “All of the staff here are really dedicated and work so hard that we are delighted to see that our patients recognise the effort we put in.
“Our patients are at the centre of everything we do, so to have them value us so highly and place their trust in us is very rewarding.
“Despite being the top placed surgery in Stockport, we won’t be complacent and will continue to improve so that the services we offer our patients are even better.”
In terms of its ranking in Greater Manchester, Bracondale Medical Centre took fourth place out of over 400 GP practices.
Three other Stockport practices also featured in the top ten surgeries in Greater Manchester – High Lane Medical Centre, Vernon Park Surgery and The Surgery 1 in Portwood.
