Mersey Square, Stockport Town Centre, is the venue for the Covid-19 vaccination pop up clinic this Thursday, 22 July, and Friday, 23 July, from 10am to 4pm. No appointment required.
The mobile vaccination unit will be located outside Superdrug in Mersey Square, SK1 1SP, offering first and second AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccinations to anyone 18 years of age and over, subject to eligibility and assessment.
It is the second dose of the vaccine which offers maximum protection. Anyone who has had their first vaccination eight weeks ago, or more, is now urged to come forward for their second to protect themselves, their families and their friends.
Dr Cath Briggs, Chair of Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “We’ve done so well with our first jabs but we really need a collective push on our second ones. I encourage everyone in Stockport to come and get their second jab. You can now have it 8 weeks after the first.”
Councillor Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health at Stockport Council, added: “It’s important that young people aged 18+ get their vaccination as soon as possible. They and their families should continue to take regular lateral flow tests.
“If young people are positive, or have any Covid symptoms, they should isolate to help break the chain of transmission.”
Stockport also has a number of community pharmacies offering walk in and bookable appointments. To view the full range of options in Stockport, and how to book, visit www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/news/covid-19-vaccination-options/.
