16th June 2021
UPDATED: Friday, 18 June, 2021, following the NHS England and NHS Improvement announcement that all adults are now invited to book their Covid-19 vaccination.
Anyone aged 18+ is invited to have their vaccination at this week’s pop up vaccination clinics in Stockport, subject to eligibility, with both Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines available.
The pop up vaccination clinics, organised by NHS Stockport Clinical Group (CCG) and supported by Stockport Council, are in new locations this week offering first and second dose vaccinations. They will be run by staff and volunteers from Everest Pharmacy and St John Ambulance.
Thursday, 17 June, 10am – 4pm
Friday, 18 June, 10am – 4pm
No booking is required and if you are driving to either site, please be considerate of local residents by parking with care. Marshalls will be on hand to direct you.
In line with national guidance, everyone is assessed upon arrival to ensure they get the vaccine suitable for them and given appropriate advice. Attendees are also asked to make sure they have eaten a meal before vaccination to reduce the risk of fainting.
Dr Cath Briggs, Chair of NHS Stockport CCG, said: “I encourage those who are eligible over 18, to go to this week’s pop up clinics, it’s so easy to get your vaccination. There is no booking required, it is as simple as turning up and walking in.
“Remember your second dose is just as important as your first. So if eight weeks have passed since your first vaccination, please get your second jab for your maximum protection against COVID-19.”
Councillor Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health, Stockport Council, added: “I’m extremely pleased to see yet another pop up vaccination clinic in Stockport and as more age groups become eligible, I strongly encourage anyone who is yet to receive their first dose to head down to the clinic, helping keep Stockport and its residents safe and healthy.”
Stockport also has a number of community pharmacies who have signed up to give vaccinations with appointments released when available, on a first come first served basis. There is also the Ethidad Campus in Manchester or Alderley Park near Macclesfield.
Appointments must be booked for all of these through the National Booking Service at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or by calling 119 for free, seven days a week, between 7am and 11pm.
