New Safeguarding Arrangements for Children in Stockport

• The Children and Social Work Act 2017 set out provisions to replace local Safeguarding Children Boards with new flexible working arrangements; further defined in Working Together 2018
• New arrangements to be led by 3 partners; Local Authority; Police and CCG to work together with relevant agencies for the purpose of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the area.
• Responsibility for Serious Case reviews will move to a National Safeguarding Practice review Panel who will commission and publish reviews that will have national learning.
• Local safeguarding partners will complete local reviews where partners believe there are lessons to be learned.
