New Pop Up Vaccination Clinic Announced

The next pop up Covid-19 Pfizer vaccination clinic organised by NHS Stockport Clinical Group (CCG), supported by Stockport Council, will be at the Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Stockport, SK3 8TP, on Thursday, 3 June, and Friday, 4 June, from 10am-5pm. No appointment is required.

In the last few weeks, St John Ambulance and Everest Pharmacy, supported by the Royal Voluntary Service, have vaccinated hundreds of people with their first dose of the vaccine.

The session inside the church will offer first Pfizer vaccinations to anyone aged 28+ (age subject to change as Government advice changes), health and social care workers, unpaid carers and anyone with underlying health conditions.

A second dose can be given if eight weeks (56 days) have passed since your first Pfizer dose, both vaccines must be the same.

In line with national guidance, everyone is assessed upon arrival to ensure that the vaccination is suitable for them to have. Anyone who cannot have it will be signposted to another vaccination point for an alternative vaccine.

Those who are eligible, will be able to get their Pfizer vaccination quickly and safely by trained vaccinators and marshals will be on hand to ensure that social distancing measures are in place.

Vaccination appointments are also available at other sites across the region, including the Eithad Campus and a number of community pharmacies in Stockport. These appointments must be booked online at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by calling 119 for free, seven days a week, between 7am and 11pm.

It is the second dose of the vaccine which offers maximum protection, so it is also important that anyone who has had the first vaccination books their second as soon as they receive the invitation.

Dr Cath Briggs, Chair of NHS Stockport CCG, said “The pop up site makes it very easy for people to get their vaccine. There is no booking required, it’s simply turn up and walk in, it’s that simple. I encourage anyone, who hasn’t had their vaccine and is eligible, to go along.”

Councillor Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health at Stockport Council, added: “Following on from the success of the last vaccine pop up centre, I’m overjoyed to see more opportunities for Stockport residents to safely get their first dose of the vaccine. I encourage anybody eligible to head down to the popup centre to get theirs and help keep Stockport safe.”
