New Extended Hours for The Stockport Covid-19 Pop Up Sites

With extended opening hours and a brand new site, the pop up Covid-19 vaccination clinic is back in Stockport this week. The clinic organised by NHS Stockport Clinical Group (CCG) and supported by Stockport Council will be at two sites across the borough.

On Thursday, 24 June, the clinic visits a new location at Heald Green Mosque (Cheadle Muslim Association), 377 Wilmslow Road, Heald Green, Cheadle, SK8 3NP, operating later opening hours from 10am-9pm.

On Friday, 25 June, the pop up will return to Life Leisure Brinnington Park, Northumberland Road, Stockport, SK5 8LS, with an earlier opening time of 9am-4pm.

All adults are now eligible to get their vaccination and will be able to get their first or second AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines by simply walking into one of the pop up sites. People are invited for the second vaccination if eight weeks have passed since the first.

Everyone is assessed upon arrival to ensure the vaccination is suitable for them to have. Trained vaccinators and marshals will be on hand to ensure that everyone can get their vaccination quickly and safely.

Anita Rolfe, Executive Nurse, NHS Stockport CCG, said “We are delighted to add another new site to our pop up clinic programme and, by opening until 9pm on Thursday and at 9am on Friday, we hope to give anyone who has not been able to attend a pop up so far, the chance to come along.

“I encourage any adult who has not yet been vaccinated, or is eligible for their second, to come along on Thursday or Friday to get theirs.”

Councillor Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health, Stockport Council, added: “Following on from the success of the previous vaccine pop up clinics, I’m overjoyed to see more opportunities for Stockport residents.

“Now that all over 18s are eligible for their vaccination, I strongly encourage anyone who is yet to receive their first dose to head down to one of the clinics and help keep Stockport a healthy and safe place to live and work.”
