Extended times and new days will be added to the ongoing vaccination programme when Scorah Chemist launches a weekly Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday clinic at Trinity Church, Trinity Gardens, 351 Bramhall Lane, SK3 8TP from this week.
The new opening hours of 8am to 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays, 8am to 6pm on Saturdays and 8am to 4pm on Sundays, aims to attract even more working people, parents and students in Stockport who want to get their first vaccination or finish their course with the second one.
People can simply walk-in to Trinity Church vaccination clinic and get a jab there and then, subject to eligibility, or book an appointment on the national booking system: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/
Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Our partnership with community pharmacies has enabled us to refine our vaccination programme to make it as easy as possible to access Covid jabs.
“This new clinic, run by Scorah Chemist, aims to help busy working people, parents and students who may prefer an early morning or evening appointment to accommodate their daily schedules.”
Trinity Church will replace the clinic previously planned for the Brookdale Theatre venue – any residents with appointments made for Brookdale need to now go to Trinity instead.
Like other vaccination clinics, Trinity Church offers the Pfizer jab for 16 and over. Adults over 40 can receive Oxford Astra Zeneca or Pfizer, subject to eligibility. Second doses (of the same vaccination) can be given if eight weeks (56 days) have passed since receiving the first dose.
“Until further notice, we are delighted that the three-day clinic at Trinity Church will help to encourage even more people, aged 16 and over, to join the majority of others in Stockport who have already had their jabs with a view to protecting themselves – and their friends and family – against the more serious side effects of Covid including, the potential for hospitalisation,” said Dr Munro.
Stockport also has a number of other community pharmacies offering walk in and bookable appointments. To view the full range of options in Stockport, and how to book, visit www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/news/covid-19-vaccination-options/
