Stockport’s health chiefs are urging the town’s 30,000 smokers to use No Smoking Day to kick-start their bid to ditch the fags.
There’s never been a better time to quit smoking with so much free, local support available to help you give up for good.
Dr Vicci Owen Smith, Stockport CCG’s Clinical Director for Public Health said: “We know that giving up smoking permanently could add as much as 10 years to a person’s life as well as saving them thousands of pounds.
“Past evidence shows that you’re 4 times more likely to succeed in kicking the habit if you quit with support rather than try and go it alone.
“So with so much help around to support quitters, we’re urging every smoker in Stockport to use No Smoking Day to take a leap towards a healthier, wealthier future.”
