2nd July 2020
Co-production Week is back (6th -10th July) and this year the theme is “Co-production in a changing world.”
This is its fifth year and it celebrates the benefits of co-production, the sharing good practice and promoting the contribution people and communities can make in developing better public services.
It’s about health and social care organisations working together in equal partnership with people who use their services along with carers and families.
Co-production offers the chance to transform social care and health provision to a model that offers people real choice and control.
We can only develop services in Stockport to deliver the best support if we listen to those who are actually using them in this rapidly changing world. Co-production is not only what we should do but what we value doing.
We want to harness the energy, ideas and enthusiasm of our residents. Services are better when the voice of the patient, community and staff help to shape them.
If you want to get involved you can always have your say on a range of consultations going on through the Citizen Space web page at https://tinyurl.com/ybempmp9
The purpose of Citizen Space is to let patients, carers, staff and members of the public submit their views on important changes. You will find information on upcoming consultations, surveys and events as well as reading what people said about past decisions and how those views to changed services.
Stockport Council are also running a series of events during co-production week including a drop-in clinic offering advice and discussion for parents and carers who are experiencing challenging behaviours from children at home. More details of the events can be found on the council’s website.
Ultimately co-production is about creating a better world in which people, families and communities have a sense of strength and influence in the places they live and work in!
