29th March 2021
GP practices in Stockport will be closed on Friday, 2 April, 2021, (Good Friday) and Monday, 5 April, 2021, (Easter Monday).
If you have a medical need when your GP practice is closed call NHS 111 First and you will be directed to the most appropriate service to use. It’s free to call and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If your condition is serious or a life threatening emergency, always dial 999 immediately or go to your nearest emergency department.
Don’t forget if you have a regular prescription, make sure you have enough supply to last until your GP practice opens again.
Some pharmacies will be open on Good Friday and Easter Sunday with specific opening times.
The rota is available on the Greater Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee’s website: https://psnc.org.uk/greater-manchester-lpc/our-news/easter-may-bank-holiday-hours/.
Dr Cath Briggs, Chair of Stockport CCG, said:
“It is important that people know where they can get the help they need when their GP practice is closed. NHS 111 First is quick and easy, it’s just a phone call with help at the end of the line to direct people where to get help. .
“Being prepared is also important so anyone who has a regular prescription should ensure that they have everything they need, or request supplies now so that it can be delivered or collected before Easter.”
