Stockport residents are being urged by health bosses to “Get Boosted Now” to give themselves better protection from the Omicron COVID-19 variant.
Anyone aged 12 or over and eligible can walk-in and get vaccinated at Stockport’s latest pop up COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Aquinas College on Tuesday, 1 February, 10am – 2.30pm.
The clinic based at Aquinas College, Nangreave Rd, Heaviley, SK2 6TH, will be offering the Pfizer vaccine for first, second or booster doses if 12 weeks have passed since the previous vaccination.
It’s another opportunity for Stockport residents to get vaccinated locally. This is in addition to the walk-in clinic at Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Bramhall, SK3 8TP, open Tuesdays and Fridays, 8am – 6pm, and Saturdays, 9am – 5pm.
For those unable to attend this pop up clinic, bookable appointments are also available online via the NHS website at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination, or by calling 119 for free.
Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “COVID-19 has not gone away and the best protection against the Omicron variant is to be fully vaccinated, which includes having the booster. I encourage anyone eligible to come along and take advantage of this local and convenient pop up clinic and get vaccinated.”
Councillor Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health at Stockport Council, said: “I am delighted that the walk-in clinic offer in Stockport continues to adapt to meet the needs of the local and national vaccination programme.
“I urge anyone who needs a first, second or booster vaccination to get down to Aquinas College on Tuesday, 1 February, and if you can’t make this one, keep following the CCG @NHSStockportCG and the council @StockportMBC on Facebook or Twitter to hear about the next one.”
