Ten more pop up COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be open across Stockport this February half-term from Monday, 14 February, to Friday, 18 February, with a choice of two clinics each day. It’s an ideal time for those who are 12-17 years of age to get their vaccination whilst school and college are out.
This latest vaccination offer, organised by NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group and Stockport Council, is a bid to get even more people protected against COVID-19 and reduce the spread of the Omicron variant, at a time when infections rates remain high across the borough.
Anyone aged 12 and over, and eligible, will be able to get a first, second or booster vaccination. No booking is required, simply walk in and get vaccinated. Eligibility guidance can be found on the Stockport CCG website at: www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/news/covid-19-vaccination-options/.
Walk-ins are also available at Trinity Methodist, 351 Bramhall Lane, Bramhall, SK3 8TP, on Tuesdays and Fridays, 8am–6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays, 9am–5pm.
Local pharmacies across Stockport are also offering vaccinations bookable via the National Booking Service: www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination.
Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “There is still more to do to protect ourselves against COVID-19, especially with infection rates still high in Stockport. I urge anyone who needs a first, second or booster vaccination to take advantage of this local and convenient offer during the half term school holidays.”
Councillor Jude Wells, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Care & Health, said: “It’s really important that we are all up to date with our COVID-19 vaccinations to protect ourselves, and those around us, against the virus.
“At least three in four adults in every area of Stockport have already had the vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones. Please spread the word and encourage your family, friends and colleagues to make the most of these clinics to keep yourself and your community safe and well.”
