Stockport’s GP practices have been lining up to take a well-deserved bow at the local NHS annual Health Protection and Screening awards.
Thanks to the amazing efforts of local doctors, nurses, practice staff and community pharmacists, the borough was once again a step ahead of the rest of the country when it came to protecting residents against flu.
Over 98,000 people were vaccinated – the highest number ever – keeping Stockport at the top of the table when it comes to immunising people in the at-risk group aged 6 months to 65 years including all pregnant women.
Now Stockport’s Health Protection team have been honouring the best achieving practices as a thank you for their commitment to patients.
Whilst every practice should take credit for Stockport’s continuing high level performance in this area, special mentions go to the winners of the flu awards who were:
Most Improved Practice: Flu campaign
High Lane Med centre (Dr Mathewson) – Over 65s + 6mnths – 64 yr old at risk improved by 7.4%
Highest Achieving Practice: Pregnant women
