Easter Opening Times

Local GP surgeries and pharmacies across Stockport have agreed to open over the Easter weekend to support local people during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

GP surgeries, which usually close over the bank holiday weekend, will now be open on Friday the 10th of April and Monday the 13th of April between 8am and 6.30pm.

The usual out of hours Saturday and Sunday services will  be available offering pre-booked appointments and taking calls. You can access these by contacting your GP surgery either online or by phone.

In order to help protect staff and patients, most appointments will be on the phone or via video conferencing.

Community pharmacies will also be opening on Friday the 10th and Monday the 13th of April, with many open between 2pm-5pm for prescriptions to be collected. They will be open their usual weekend working hours on the Saturday and Sunday.

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered online (through your GP website) or on the NHS app.  Due to Coronavirus there has been a significant increase in demand for prescriptions.  Therefore most repeat prescriptions will be limited to 28-day supply to ensure all patients are able to receive vital medications.

Patients should only request a repeat prescription when they reach 7-10 days of remaining supply.

Where someone is self-isolating, they should make arrangements with friends, family, neighbours or the volunteer service to collect their prescription, as the pharmacy may not be able to deliver.
