5. Missing or incorrect vaccination details – a guide

Call 119, selecting option 1 ‘England’ and then option 4 ‘To report an issue with your vaccination record’. The call agents will take some details from you and make an electronic referral into the Vaccination Data Resolution Service (VDRS) service.

The VDRS team will aim to contact you within 21 days. The number they will call you from is 01869 817119. They will make three attempts to contact you (you cannot call them).

If they are unsuccessful in contacting you, you will need to call 119 and make a new referral. Your previous call will be closed after the three attempts to contact you.

What can the VDRS not help with?

The VDRS team is working on solutions to other issues people might experience with their vaccine records.

For now, some examples of cases in which the service cannot currently help include:

  • Cases where the person’s name or address is recorded incorrectly
  • Vaccinations given outside of England, Scotland or Wales
  • Cases of non-MHRA-approved vaccines (the service cannot help with vaccines other than Oxford/AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Pfizer (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), and Janssen)
  • People who cannot evidence when and where they received their vaccination(s)
  • Vaccine trial participants.

How do I make a complaint about the VDRS?

Complaints about the VDRS should be directed to the NHS England Complaints team at england.contactus@nhs.net or by post to:

NHS England
PO Box 16738
Redditch
B97 9PT

If your vaccination record is correct but you still cannot access your NHS COVID Pass, please call 119 and choose the NHS COVID Pass option to access support.

If you are having a problem specifically with the NHS App, as opposed to a vaccination data record problem, please contact the NHS App team at www.nhs.uk/contact-us/nhs-app-contact-us.

6. Overseas vaccination validation service

A service is available to capture evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations administered in countries other than England, Scotland and Wales and have these recorded in the National Immunisation Management System (NIMS). This will then enable an accurate NHS COVID Pass to be generated. You can use this service if you’re aged 16 or over and have an NHS number.

You must also have received one of these vaccines outside of England: Oxford/AztraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty), Johnson & Johnson (Janssen), Moderna (Spikevax), Institute of India (Covishield), Bharat Biotech (Covaxin), SinoVac (CoronaVac), Beijing Institute of Biological Products (Sinopharm BIBP).

Those wanting to use the service need to make an appointment at one of the vaccination centres offering this service.  Appointments need to be booked at and managed through the National Booking Service on the NHS website or by calling 119. There are now 50 sites offering this service.

Parents can book appointments on behalf of their children (aged 5 – 15) to get their overseas vaccination records validated.

7. Helpline Contact Details

Anyone unsure about how or where you can get your first or second vaccination, or just have a question about the vaccination programme, contact the helpline team by telephone on 0161 426 9910 (leave a message and they will call you back during normal office hours) or email STOCCG.Pxenquiries@nhs.net.

Parents can contact the School Nursing Service for advice and support about the vaccination programme on 0161 474 5912.

Children can contact a text-based service, ChatHealth, on 07480 635 227, where they can chat with a school nurse for confidential advice and support. This is not limited to questions about the vaccine.
