New Lay Member
Stockport CCG is delighted to welcome Don Phillips as the new Lay Member for Lived Experience and Public Involvement.
Don brings extensive corporate governance, sales, marketing and operations experience to the role, in addition to his work in developing a number of local social enterprises.
Don has helped set up Seed Enterprises CIC and Bubble Enterprises CIC that run projects and programmes in the mental health and wellbeing fields. In addition he has established Carisma, a charitable organisation developing communities in south Manchester through a toolkit that promotes tolerance and understanding between individuals and gangs.
Don said: “I am delighted and privileged to be appointed to the role of Lay Member. It is an opportunity to be involved with many organisations that I both respect and admire in creating an environment in Stockport in which we can all thrive”.
“Although I was born in Didsbury I have lived for over 25 years in the borough whilst raising my two kids (one of whom is adopted) and I have spent most of my life living with a mental health condition, which has helped me to gain a unique perspective on the difference we can make in health and care”.
“I am really excited at the opportunity we all have in working to connect more closely with our communities across Stockport”.
