Best GP surgery in Greater Manchester

A GP practice in Brinnington has been chosen by patients, in a national survey, as the best in Greater Manchester.

The Surgery 1, led by Dr Hany Azmy, beat 446 other practices in the region to the top spot in the annual GP Patients Survey.

The poll gathers opinions from around a million people on a whole series of factors that may impact on the service patients receive from their family doctor.

Seven key areas are looked at including whether patients trust their doctor, how convenient the appointment system is and how helpful reception staff are.

Every patient from Dr Azmy’s practice, who responded to the survey, said their overall experience of the surgery was good whilst nationally only eight out of ten had such a positive reaction.

And when it came to whether patients trusted the surgery’s clinicians or found the reception staff to be helpful, again everyone gave them top rating.

Dr Azmy said “I’ve been here almost 29 years so I know my patients well. They are happy and so we are happy. I also have a brilliant team working here with me.”
