Fed up with hangovers? We’ve got the best hangover cure going – don’t drink! But can you stay off the booze for 31 days?
Last year over 4 million Brits took the pledge to lose the booze for January. This year we want even more people to join in Dry January and reap the rewards!
From significant health benefits including weight loss and better sleep, to having more energy and money in your pocket – what have you got to lose?
After the festive period you’re probably looking forward to a break from over indulging anyhow but you’re more likely to stick with it if you make it a bit official
So sign up to take the challenge at www.dryjanuary.org.uk , it’ll help you to banish the booze and feel like a whole new you!
But even if you decide not to take up the challenge there are things you can do to minimise the risk of harming your health, like having at least three alcohol free days a week.
For those of you taking up the challenge remember alcohol is packed with calories so stopping drinking should also help you shed a few pounds!
Drinking in moderation is fine but it’s good to have some time out. The real problem is that you don’t have to drink ridiculous amounts to harm your health.
If you regularly drink more than the recommended daily amount – and that’s around 3 units for both men and women -you double your chances of getting cancer or having a stroke in later life.
So take a month out from drinking and get yourself back in control of your alcohol consumption.
