Urgent Care

Across the NHS, urgent and emergency care services are changing to ensure that patients get the right care, in the right place, whenever they need it. Further enhancements to urgent and emergency care services will ensure that we provide a modern, responsive service fit for the future.

In Stockport the CCG works closely with a range of partners, including Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, NWAS, Primary Care, Stockport Council, Mastercall, Viaduct and patient representative bodies (Healthwatch) to continually review and improve local Urgent Care services and alternatives.

In this section you will find information to help Practices signpost patients to alternative appropriate services.

Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU)

The ACU offers same-day emergency medical care for patients, to help manage a number of conditions which can be treated safely, often without requiring overnight stay in hospital.
