Blood Pressure Monitoring

NHS Stockport CCG commissions a locality based service for the provision of 24hr blood pressure monitoring. The service is provided across Stockport at 6 GP practices.

The service aims to:

• Offer a 24 hour blood pressure diagnostic assessment and proposed treatment plan
• Diagnose patients with suspected hypertension in line with NICE guidance
• Provide a more clinically effective blood pressure test for long term prognosis
• Reduce the potential for over treatment in cases of ‘white coat’ hypertension
