The Clinical Policy committee (CPC) has reviewed the NICE clinical guidance published in January;http://guidance.nice.org.uk/CG137.

Key points for GPs are:

1. Ensure you are familiar with best practice in emergency assessment and treatment.
2. Ensure you are familiar with the latest treatment guidance, for example, branded versus generic and modified release preparations.
