The CCG and its practices are members of AQuA and as such can access the training and development opportunities free of charge.  There are a range of learning and development training sessions which Stockport practices can access at no cost, available sessions include Motivational Interviewing and Shared Decision Making.

AstraZeneca’s online resource portal – This portal is targeted at UK Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacists – http://www.simply4doctors.co.uk  Registration is free and gives you access to these benefits:

  • Medical tools: Health monitoring, therapy area calculators & risk indicators
  • Patient resources: Instructional videos, information sheets & symptom checklists
  • Scientific resources: eCME content, information on AZ medicines and clinical trials

Health Education Englands Training Hub

Health Educations England’s training hubs are integral to our core purpose of helping deliver excellent healthcare through education and training to our current and future workforce meeting the priorities outlined in the NHS long term plan. Hopwood Hall College –  Free distance learning for staff –   https://www.hopwood.ac.uk/about/short-online-courses

Range of flexible distance learning courses that Hopwood Hall College are offering to any staff member across Greater Manchester.  The list includes customer care, difficult conversations, dealing with stress, online safety etc.  All can be accessed via this link.

Funding Opportunities

Education for Health

Education for Health, in conjunction with their partners, offer educational bursaries to part fund clinical modules such as spirometry and asthma. Lists of courses that qualify for bursaries can be found here: https://www.educationforhealth.org/education/courses/funding-sponsorship/. This list will regularly be updated with more courses, so please keep checking. Each individual course that qualifies for a bursary will have a link to the relevant bursary application form at the top of the page. A restricted number of bursaries may be available for any given course.
