Greater Manchester Health and Care Learning Environment Strategy 2021-2024

The strategy is a system wide vision and provides a framework for the future of practice education for Greater Manchester so that we can provide effective learning environments for Allied Health Professions (AHP), Midwives and Nurses  which will support the development of the future health and care workforce. The importance of this strategy comes into sharp focus as we continue to see welcome growth in the number of healthcare students studying in Greater Manchester and I am confident it will make a positive impact on their experiences.

Please read the strategy and consider how this will be supported in your own organisation. The strategy is available on a webpage, linked here, which contains useful resources. It also hosts a blog that will be frequently updated with stories of innovation and development.

The Greater Manchester Wellbeing Toolkit

Our Wellbeing Toolkit is LIVE

The Greater Manchester Wellbeing Toolkit for our health and care workforce is an interactive online toolkit to help support colleagues to be their best.

The last twelve months have been really challenging for the people keeping our health and care services running, and it is more important than ever that we all prioritise good wellbeing in everything we do.

This toolkit has been developed by Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, the body overseeing the region’s Covid-19 response, and brings together all the great wellbeing initiatives and resources that are available in Greater Manchester in one place. It provides advice on keeping well physically, practically and psychologically, as well top tips on how you can support those around you and seek help for yourself or someone you know when it’s needed.

Whether you work on site or work from home, or a mixture of the two, there are guides on introducing a ‘Buddy Network’ in your team, a debriefing guide to help you make the transition from work to home at the end of the day, as well as tips for improving your sleep and reducing stress.

Click here to access the toolkit.

Colleagues can digest the whole toolkit at once or skip to the sections that are relevant to you. The Toolkit also includes downloadable templates and guides.

If you find this toolkit useful, please share it with colleagues, or even family or friends. If sharing on social media, use the hashtags #GmWellbeing and #GmWorkingTogether.

Click here to book to join an introductory virtual session on the Wellbeing Toolkit. The sessions will provide an overview of the toolkit, with practical tools and tips on how to look after yourself and your team. Sessions are open to all members of our health and care workforce.
