Travel Vaccinations – Virtual

Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria

Relevant to all working in travel medicine, but with a particular focus on Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Pharmacists, whose role involves administering travel vaccinations or advising on travel health as part of their clinical practice.

Course Aim

These lunchtime learning sessions aim to provide accessible education on topical issues and the latest development in travel medicine. With approximately one hour content being delivered, there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.

Content

The sessions will include hot topics in travel medicine that have occurred in 2020 including providing a service in the time of COVID-19. Some case studies will be considered around difficult scenarios and issues. In addition there will be individual sessions on specialist’s topics such as:

  • Rabies
  • Yellow Fever
  • Malaria
  • Senior Travellers
  • The Immunocompromised Traveller

The exact content of the sessions will be informed by feedback from those interested in attending.

4 x 90 minute sessions (all 4 must be attended)

Cost

This course is free of charge for all those working in Stockport General Practices.

Booking Process/Additional Information

  • Bookings for this course should be made via the Virtual College LMS: http://stockportccg.virtual-college.co.uk/
  • Each event will also be recorded and made available to delegates, allowing time to catch up when convenient. The CCG can provide licences for the recordings to be accessed at any point. Resources will be posted online after each session, and delegates will have access to all four webinars.
  • All 4 dates must be attended
  • CPD certification (recognising 4 hours of learning) will be provided to all attendees of all 4 webinars.
