The NHS Jigsaw: How General Practice Fits into the Wider NHS Family

Staff new to General Practice

Course Content:

We will look at how General Practice fits into the jigsaw that is the NHS Family. This will include thinking about organisations such as Viaduct Care, Stockport Integrated Care Partnership, Public Health and Stockport MBC, NHSE and Central Government. And also how GPs are funded and what an independent contractor status means.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the session the delegates will truly understand what it means to run a business within the complexity of the NHS and its primary care function. This is an introductory course and would work well for people new to general practice and could form part of an induction programme.
