NHS England offer a training grant, payable to employers who support their employees to undertake the nursing associate apprenticeship programme.
Due to financial constraints, training grant numbers will now be capped. To ensure equity and fair share allocation of funding, an Expression of Interest (EOI) has been introduced for employers to complete to apply for this funding.
The offer is open to for any health care employers in the Northwest who can support learners to commence on pathway in the 2025-26 financial year (starting before 31st March 2026).
Please note, this application process is for training grant only. Trainees will need to apply to the Higher Education Institute (HEI) of their choice via the HEI’s application process to secure a place on the programme.
Please see the Principles for Funding for details of eligibility, scope, payment schedules and levy transfer opportunities for payment of fees, where needed.
Next Steps
As places are limited, organisations are invited to submit EOIs which will be reviewed by a moderation panel.
To express an interest, please complete the EOIs for training grant to support Nursing Associate apprenticeships. EOIs can be summitted until 31st March 2026.
Please note, organisations can submit multiple EOIs during the year but please do not request more funded places that you can reasonably support.
The aim is to review and confirm initial allocation of training grant funding by Friday 20th June 2025 and subsequently within 4 weeks of receipt of EOIs.
Once all training grant funding is allocated, there will be a reserve list to enable full utilisation of funding during the financial year.
