HIV – Preventing Late Stage HIV – How Can Primary Care Help?

Course Overview

The aim of this session is to outline current HIV epidemiology in the North West. Approximately 67% of HIV diagnoses in Stockport are made ‘late’ (CD4 <350) which contributes to increased morbidity and mortality. The session will cover; some clinical scenarios, benefits of increased testing, referral pathways, and a quality improvement project to help remind clinicians to offer HIV testing.
