PHE Vaccine Evaluation Unit – turnaround times extended

The Public Health England Vaccine Evaluation Unit is experiencing staffing issues which are affecting the turnaround times for the serological testing for Pneumococcal serotype – specific, Haemophilus influenzae type b, diphtheria and tetanus IgG antibody testing.

The turnaround time are being extended from 28 working days to 56 working days until the end of March. The meningococcal serum bactericidal antibody titre testing is not affected. The unit apologise for any inconvenience this will cause and they are taking all steps necessary to address the issue.
