Community IV Therapy Sessions – Mastercall

Mastercall Healthcare, who provide a Community IV Therapy Service across Stockport, have made some changes to further improve their service after receiving feedback from referrers.

The service has now been updated and these changes have been made:

• Mastercall now take referrals from all appropriate registered health professionals (i.e. RGN, ANP, podiatry)
• They liaise with Microbiology for advice
• They offer PICC and Midline insertion
• Referrals to the service can be made 24/7 (please note referrals are formally accepted in their core service hours – 8am-10pm)

The Community IV Therapy Service is for:

• All patients registered with Stockport GPs
• Any patient requiring IV antibiotic medication over the age of 18
• All infections requiring once or twice daily IV antimicrobial therapy, and in some instances 24-hour pump with micro advice

Patients are closely monitored by Mastercall with twice weekly virtual MDT ward round with GP, nurse consultant, IV practitioner and AP.
