Consultant Connect

ENT is available again via Consultant Connect. This enables GPs to obtain advice and guidance by phone from the ENT Consultants. It can also reduce the need for referral for outpatients’ appointment.

Ultrasound scan referrals

With immediate effect all referrals to community based ultrasound scan providers must be made via e Referral Service. Any referrals faxed or sent by post will be returned to the referrer. This is in line with the Paper Switch Off work which has already happened with acute trusts.

Referrals to Stepping Hill hospital will continue to be processed as per their normal processes.

Trauma Nurse Team

The way you refer to the Trauma Nurse Team is changing. From 1 December 2018 referrals will no longer be accepted by fax. Referrals will need to be sent via e mail. The e mail address is snt-tr.fractureclinicreferrals@nhs.net

Referrals sent via fax will be returned to practices to be processed via email.

Expedite letters

For patients referred to Stepping Hill should be emailed to snt-tr.shhreferrals@nhs.net

Please do not send a further referral via eRS as this creates duplicate referrals.

Audiology referrals

All audiology referrals must now be booked via eRS. However this service is only available to patients aged 50 and over. Patients experiencing hearing loss aged 49 or under need to be booked into ENY.

Please do not book your patients into the ‘Hear and Now’ audiology at Stepping Hill. This is specifically for Tameside and Glossop patients and will result in the referral being returned to you.
