Spotting the Signs of Blood Cancer (e-learning)

Leukemia CARE has worked with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) to develop an online training course to help GPs recognise the signs and symptoms that may indicate a patient has blood cancer.

Collectively, blood cancers are the fifth most common form of cancer diagnosed in the UK with around 34,000 new cases diagnosed each year. But, each individual blood cancer is rare and, coupled with their vague symptoms, they can be extremely hard to diagnose.

Helping GPs to be more aware of the nonspecific symptoms of blood cancer could lead to earlier diagnosis, which could save lives.

Our new GP Training Course has been developed with this in mind. Our two 30-minute, free of charge, CPD modules on blood cancers will help GPs to:

  • Better understand and recognise the symptoms of blood cancers
  • Identify potential cases of blood cancer
  • Refer patients for further tests more quickly
  • Make informed decisions.
