Course Aim
The NCSCT has developed a method for identifying effective behaviour change techniques (BCTs) for smoking cessation. Using this method they analysed a transcript of the content of the NCSCT training module on Very Brief Advice (VBA) on Smoking for BCTs and compared these against a meta-analysis of brief opportunistic smoking cessation interventions.
Course Content:
The behaviour change techniques contained within the NCSCT Very Brief Advice (VBA) on Smoking training module which are supported by meta-analysis (i.e. are evidence-based) are:
- Assess current and past smoking behaviour
- Provide information on consequences of smoking and smoking cessation
