Musculoskeletal Care – Core Skills (e-learning)

Target Audience:

This core skills programme is aimed at GPs and other healthcare professionals.

Course Aim:

Arthritis Research UK has developed this educational package in partnership with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).

Each year 20% of people in the UK consult a GP about a musculoskeletal problem. Upon completion of the course, you will have an improved ability and confidence to assess, diagnose, investigate, treat and appropriately refer your patients. The course is informed by NICE guidelines to help you provide a high standard of care on a daily basis.

Course Content:

The programme contains two courses which are broken down into modules. The modules focus on a primary care approach to the assessment, diagnosis, investigation and treatment of musculoskeletal problems.  You can choose individual modules and complete them at your own pace. You’ll get an e-certificate when you complete every module in a course and you can earn up to 5 CPD hours.

Modules cover:

  • inflammatory arthritis
  • osteoarthritis
  • gout and polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR)
  • fibromyalgia
  • common upper and lower limb conditions
