Immunisation & Vaccination – Initial Training for Registered HCPs

Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria

This training is aimed at Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates & Pharmacists whose role involves administering immunisations or advising on vaccinations as part of their clinical practice and have undertaken no previous training.

Course Aim 

To provide the required knowledge and skills to enable Practice Nurses and Pharmacists to administer and advise on immunisations and vaccinations following a practical programme undertaken with an experienced practitioner in the general practice setting. In addition it will strengthen competencies around managing adverse events including anaphylaxis.

Pre-requisites:

All delegates need to be up to date with their annual Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis training.

Course Duration

This course runs for 3 full days.  Please note all 3 days must be attended.

Trainer/Facilitator – The main lecturer for the Workshop will be Dr D Baxter, Consultant in Public Health

All 8.30 – 5pm at Stockport NHS Trust, Stepping Hill Hospital, G24, Pinewood House, Poplar Grove, Stockport SK2 7JE

Cost

This course is free of charge for all those who work in Stockport General Practices.
