Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria
This course is suitable for Practice Nurses, Assistant Practitioners and Health Care Assistants looking for practical ECG training.
Course Aim
This course aims to provide a short tutorial on how to do a good quality 12 lead ECG and troubleshooting followed by hands on practical ECG training in an ECG clinic. Delegates will then be given an ECG log sheet to complete, supervised by a key trainer within your workplace, who will provide further practical ECG training and assessment.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course delegates will be able to:
- Identify the correct 12 lead ECG electrode positions.
- Identify ECG artefact and how to eliminate it.
- Have the basic skills and knowledge of how to do a practical 12 lead ECG.

This course is free of charge for all those working in Stockport General Practices.

Please be advised you will need to be assessed by a key trainer within your workplace on completion of the log sheet before being able to perform ECGs independently. Please ensure you identify a suitable practitioner that can undertake this with you in the practice
