Target Audience/Eligibility Criteria
General Practitioners, it is suitable for both new Dermatoscope users and existing practitioners.
Course Aim:
The sessions will aim to inform new Dermatoscope users and refresh current practitioners with knowledge and skills around the use of dermatoscopes and how these skills can be embedded into general practice.
Dermoscopy is a rapidly advancing and increasing popular and cost effective diagnostic aid for skin lesions improving accuracy of diagnosis and reducing unnecessary referral of benign lesions. The course will include tips on clinical lesion recognition, principles, practical and technical aspects of basic Dermoscopy and is suitable for all clinicians involved in skin lesion recognition and management.
Please note that separate to these full day sessions, shorter refresher courses will continue to be included in the rolling annual training programme. The refresher sessions are aimed at GP’s who are already in possession of a dermatoscope, and who have already attended a full day training session.

Booking Process/Additional Information
- Bookings for this course should be made via Ticket Tailor, using this booking link – (a link will be provided once a date has been confirmed).
- Once places are booked, practices or individuals who have booked will be invoiced for their place. There will be clear direction sent to each person who books about the final date payment must be received. This payment date will be in advance of the training date. All places not paid for as required will be cancelled. Any practices/individuals who would like to cancel once payment has been made will not be reimbursed (see below for more details about support with this). Full reimbursement will be made for any courses that are cancelled by NHS GM.
- The department is sympathetic to issues which may arise, however, if an individual is unable to attend an event for any reason, the learning and development team should be contacted via e-mail on gmicb-sto.learningdevelopment@nhs.net as soon as possible. We will endeavour to find a new delegate to take the place but this cannot be guaranteed. Should a replacement delegate be identified it will be the responsibility of the original practice/individual to invoice the new practice/individual for the course cost. NHS GM is not responsible for this process or transfer of course costs
